What a day! First of we thought we were going to have to bring the swimsuit with how much rain we got yesterday and through the night. But luckily we woke up to a beautiful sunny day.
Qualifying was up first, car went around the track like butter with the pilot getting some new lines and braking zones dialled in. We qualified 11th we knew we weren’t going to qualify in the single digits as its the drivers first time out ever on a race weekend.
The first race went well with the giulietta gaining 3 places and a oil down from another car stopping the racing for a bit. Car did exactly what was expected with a bit more power than qualifying.
The 2nd race… that was a bit more.. dramatic
We started the race with some more confidence from the driver and the lines and braking zones were finally coming together and the car was faster through the turns than its been the whole weekend. With dean finally catching the battle of 7th and 6th they braked a bit earlier in turn 5 and unfortunately when he braked the rear stepped out and he lost the car going into turn 5. Luckily, he was ok and the car… just lost a bumper and left headlight. It could have been way worse considering the speed up to turn 5 which is easily above 170 before the braking zone.
Indeed a weekend to remember and we just want to say thank you for all the support and al the wishes. We will do race weekend updates throughout the season and see if this little giulietta can walk the walk once the driver has more confidence. But i believe he has gained alot of knowledge from this weekend, rain, oil downs, and a spin out crash. What a way to start the season😁🏁
