Customer Complaint:
Customer reported a flashing glow plug warning light accompanied by an intermittent engine management light. The warning lights would appear sporadically while driving.
Diagnostic Findings:
A comprehensive diagnostic assessment was carried out, including a fault code scan and live data analysis of the fuel system. During testing, irregular fuel rail pressure readings were detected, indicating a fault within the diesel fuel pressure control system.
Further investigation confirmed that the diesel pressure valve and diesel pressure sensor are malfunctioning and are providing inaccurate fuel pressure regulation and feedback to the engine control unit (ECU). This results in inconsistent fuel pressure, triggering the flashing glow plug light and intermittent engine management warning light.
Recommendation:
We recommend replacing the diesel pressure valve and diesel pressure sensor, followed by clearing fault codes and performing a road test to verify correct fuel pressure operation and ensure that no further fault codes return.
Conclusion:
The flashing glow plug light and sporadic engine management light have been traced to a faulty diesel pressure valve and diesel pressure sensor. Replacement of these components is required to restore proper fuel system operation and eliminate the warning lights.
Repairs Required:
✔ Replace diesel pressure valve
✔ Replace diesel pressure sensor
✔ Clear fault codes and reset adaptations where applicable
✔ Perform final road test and diagnostic verification after repairs are completed
