I recently noticed that my Duster's ho**er wasn't working (intermittently). It would then only work when the lights were off. Eventually it stopped working altogether, so I decided to investigate and do some research on what the cause could be.

The issue was reported to Renault Centurion with the Dusters last service under service plan, and they approved a new indicator stalk almost without looking at the car, apparently it is quite a common issue on the Renaults, particularly this year model Duster.

Long story short - I removed the switch and had a look at it. It was a relief to spot the cause very easily, the soldering just isn't done that well from factory by Valeo. The OEM wiring is very stiff and taught, so I decided It took some longer and softer wire to replace the original wires. It took some maneuvring with the soldering iron, but I got it soldered pretty well.

The ho**er now works as it should, and I know the indicator stalk unit inside-out. Win-win!

I replaced the waterpump on my 2008 320d. Symptoms of the bearing failing was a squeeking noise coming from the engine when at operating temperature. Preventative maintenance for the hot summer we're having.

The Beetle now has a mended exhaust and is running quite well. Just a few touch-ups and it will be running like a dream. The prep for roadworthy continues!
