They said they were accredited. They weren’t. It could cost you more than just money.

Some workshops are falsely claiming to be RMI- or MIWA-accredited members and drivers are paying the price. From voided warranties to poor workmanship and no accountability, the risks are real.

One such case in Krugersdorp recently made national news: a business told customers they were RMI-accredited. They even said it verbally — confidently. But they weren’t. And those customers were left with no recourse.

“Consumers place their trust in the RMI name,” says Retail Motor Industry Organisation - RMI CEO, Ipeleng Mabusela. “We want to remind them of the importance of always checking credentials before handing over their car.”

Here’s how to protect yourself:
