π WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOUR CARβS SUSPENSION
Your carβs suspension does more than make your drive comfortable. It helps keep your tyres in contact with the road and plays an important role in how your car handles.
Like any other part of your vehicle, suspension components wear out over time. The tricky part is that this often happens gradually, so you might not even notice the difference until the problem gets worse.
Here are 6 signs your suspension may need attention:
1. Your car pulls to one side
If your car keeps pulling to the left or right, it could be a sign of a suspension problem or incorrect wheel alignment.
2. Your car bounces too much
Does your car keep bouncing after going over a speed bump? Worn shock absorbers could be the reason.
3. You hear knocking or strange noises
Knocking sounds when driving over bumps or uneven roads can point to worn or damaged suspension components.
4. Your tyres wear unevenly
Suspension problems and incorrect wheel alignment can contribute to uneven tyre wear. It's worth checking your tyres regularly.
5. You notice oil leaking from a shock absorber
Oil around a shock absorber could indicate a leak. This can affect how well the shock absorber performs and should be checked.
6. Your car feels unstable on the road
Worn ball joints, tie-rod ends and control arm bushes can affect your car's handling. Rubber bushes also deteriorate over time. They can crack and, if left unattended, eventually fall apart.
π‘ One thing to remember: If you notice a change in how your car drives, don't just get used to it. Pay attention to what feels different and have it checked, especially if the problem started after hitting a pothole or kerb.
