We fitted a full free-flow exhaust and carried out a proper dyno tune, transforming the way this bakkie performs. The end result? This 2.4 is now making 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝟮.𝟴 𝗛𝗶𝗹𝘂𝘅.

This Hilux arrived 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱. Our first dyno run showed the AFR was very lean and the vehicle was making around 𝟯𝟲𝗸𝗪 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 than what we would expect from a standard Gen 3.

After checking the engine bay, we couldn't find any obvious hardware problems, but it was extremely dirty. We cleaned the MAF sensor, reset the injectors and then carried out our normal dyno calibration while carefully monitoring the vehicle.

We also completed gearbox calibration, EGR off and speed limiter off.

What initially looked like bad news for the client quickly turned into good news.
