“Cheap Conversions” vs Proper Conversions 🔧🔥
There’s a big misconception that engine conversions are the “cheap option” when your engine packs up, or that a Lexus V8 swap is just a cheap toy.
That assumption is completely wrong.
Here are real examples of what people call “cheap conversions” done by some well-known or busy workshops:
We’re talking about things like:
– Starter wiring joined with a vice grip, taped up and even sealed in a plastic bag
– Engine mountings built with no rubber isolation at all
– Welding that looks like it was done by someone who should never touch a welder
– Wiring that is shocking, unsafe, and completely unreliable
If it’s cheap, you get a cheap job — and then you end up spending even more money fixing it afterwards.
A proper conversion is not just an engine swap. It’s a full, detailed build that takes time and money to do correctly.
When we do conversions, we make sure:
– Everything is done properly and safely from the start
– The cluster works again (rev counter, temp gauge, speedometer, etc.)
– Aircon is integrated and working
– Cooling system is upgraded (radiator + gearbox oil cooler — many skip this)
– Fuel system is upgraded with a proper pump
– Engine and gearbox are serviced before installation
– Correct shifter setup is installed
– A proper Spitronics engine management system is fitted (because stock ECUs are limited, non-tuneable, and outdated)
– Banana branches and freeflow exhaust systems are fitted for proper flow
– And many more!
Our pricing is our pricing — because we refuse to cut corners.
We don’t build conversions to be “cheap.”
We build them to be reliable, safe, and done right the first time.
Built properly. Tuned properly. Ready for the road 👇
