Toyota LandCruiser 4.5 V8 with JnesTuned Custom+ Software.

This vehicle has been a long term project and have done a few hundred power runs on it over time.....
As it currently sits, it is fitted with hybrid turbo (not big turbo), upgraded clutch, front mount intercooler, full exhaust and upgraded boost pipes.

Today was the second dyno session since Wednesday and we ended up with 28 file revisions AND a total of 81 power runs for data logging just this week!!!!
And all this to get it dialed in for best power vs air/fuel ratios.....We again did not send it away with the strongest development for the day, but the best balanced.

When you use proper equipment on your vehicle, fit it professionally and maintain it well, it makes the tuner's life so much easier to deliver good results.

255kw & 925nm!!!!!

Ford Ranger 2.0 Bi-Turbo Wildtrak with JnesTuned Custom+ Software.

Vehicle arrived 2 weeks ago already tuned and with a 76mm downpipe....
From the beginning of the tuning process the logs showed over-boost condition. Something that I have previously discussed in length for the First Gen platform, when downpipe is fitted.
Your typical file loader will never realize this and have no clue how to address this.
During the first tuning session we tried many file revisions to get the graphs smooth but could never get a flat curve.
Customer was willing to remove the 76mm downpipe and replace it with a smaller 63mm downpipe.
After testing the vehicle as is with the smaller downpipe, it became clear the over-boost was much better and we started all over again with the tuning process in search for a smooth graph.
Many revisions later we settle for a map that was almost smooth and still had good power and clean air/fuel ratios.

Although my opinion might not means much out there, I would strongly recommend staying away from large downpipes on the Ranger 2.0 platforms.
Unfortunately the large scale exhaust manufacturers most of the time just build generic pipe systems that have been commonly used and make it to be bolt-on.......But they never do the real-world testing to see the effects that we as tuners are now facing with their products.
