For more than a century, South Africa has been home to Ford.
It’s where generations of our people have built vehicles and engines. Where our dealers have built relationships with customers and communities. Where families have built careers with us, and where we have built a business that is deeply rooted in this country. Here’s the thing, we’re roots in and ready to go.
We are immensely proud of this history. But today is about something more important: what we do next. As Ford looks to its second century in South Africa, we are making our commitment even clearer. We will continue to invest, to build and to employ here. We will continue supporting our customers, our dealers and our host communities. And we will be an unwavering champion of industry and industrialisation as real drivers of shared value.
Every car we build at our Silverton Assembly Plant in Pretoria and Struandale Engine Plant in Gqeberha represents South African skill and manufacturing capability, with vehicles produced here reaching more than 100 markets around the world. It is something we are incredibly proud of, and something we believe is worth protecting and growing.
It’s why we will continue advocating for a fair and competitive environment for local manufacturers, and working with government, industry and our partners to help create the conditions in which South African manufacturing can thrive.
This isn’t a celebration of more than 100 years in South Africa. It is a promise about the next 100. To keep building. To keep investing. To keep creating opportunity. And to keep believing and driving in what South Africa and South Africans can achieve.
