One of the most overlooked aspects of aluminium window and curtain wall design is wind pressure at the corners of a building.

Many fabricators apply a single wind load across an entire project, without considering that wind pressures can vary significantly depending on the location of the glazing.

Building corners and edges can experience substantially higher wind suction than central façade areas.

This means a single building can have multiple design wind pressures, each requiring its own engineering assessment.

At PHICOR Architectural Products, we understand that specifying an aluminium system is only part of the process.

We assess the relevant wind loads, building geometry, glazing dimensions, structural performance and system limitations to ensure that the proposed solution is suitable for its specific location.

The difference?

We don’t simply manufacture aluminium windows and curtain walls. We understand the engineering principles behind them.

Because a system that performs adequately in the centre of a façade may not be suitable at the corner of the very same building.
