Fuel Price Update – What’s Changed?

Earlier this week, we shared expected fuel price increases based on available market data. Since then, the DMRE has issued a press release introducing a diesel subsidy (approximately R3.93/L) as well as a slate levy adjustment (around R1.22/L).

These changes significantly affect the final price outcome:

• The diesel subsidy helps reduce the impact of international oil prices
• The slate levy increases the price to recover past under-recoveries
• The combination makes the final adjustment less predictable than initially expected

At this stage, the exact fuel price changes for 6 May remain uncertain until officially confirmed.

We will update you with the final, verified prices as soon as they are released.
