🎙️ FUN FACT FRIDAY: THE KINGS OF SUPERCROSS! 👑🏁

When the lights go out and the gate drops, only the elite rise to the top. The debate over the "Greatest of All Time" in Supercross usually revolves around three legendary names:

🇺🇸 Jeremy McGrath – "The King of Supercross" He is widely regarded as the best Supercross rider of all time, dominating the 1990s with his unmatched style and whip. He holds the record for the most 450SX wins with 72 and secured 7 championships.

🇺🇸 Ricky Carmichael – "The GOAT" While McGrath ruled the stadiums, RC is the primary challenger for the title. With 48 wins and 7 titles, he is often considered the greatest overall racer because of his total dominance in both Motocross and Supercross combined.

🇺🇸 Eli Tomac – The Modern Dominator Riding in the current era, Tomac has climbed the ranks to secure the second-most wins in history (57). He remains the highest active winner and a force to be reckoned with on the track.

🚀 James Stewart (50 wins) – Known for his spectacular speed and talent.
🇦🇺 Chad Reed (44 wins) – Known for his incredible longevity and consistency.

We might be biased, but we think the Eastern Cape offers some of the best Motocross action in South Africa. From coastal flow to technical layouts, we have it all right here on our doorstep.

If you live for the adrenaline of the gate drop and the rhythm section, here are the top MX spots you need to check out:

📍 Top Tracks:
Rover MX Club (Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha) A local staple! This track is well-maintained and offers a great mix of jumps, berms, and technical sections. It’s the perfect place to practice your skills and hang out with the local racing community.
Border Motorcycle Club (East London) One of the most historic clubs in the country! The track here is known for its great layout and is a favourite for regional championships. If you want to race against the best, this is the place.
Wethered MX Park Situated near Kidd’s Beach. It’s known for its sharp corners, great spectator points and a track that really tests your fitness and line choice.

🎙️ FUN FACT FRIDAY: THE ORIGIN OF THE ORANGE CRUSH! 🧡

We all know the slogan "Ready to Race," but the story of how KTM became a global powerhouse began in a very small shop.

Here is the journey of the brand that dominates the off-road world:
🛠️ Humble Beginnings (1934) It all started when Hans Trunkenpolz opened a simple metalworking and repair shop in Mattighofen, Austria. He was a fitter by trade, but he had big dreams.

🏍️ The First Bike (1953) Nearly 20 years later, the company started serial production. Their first motorcycle was the R100, and the company name became Kraftfahrzeug Trunkenpolz Mattighofen (K-T-M). They secured their first racing title just one year later in the Austrian 125cc national championship!

📉 The Bounce Back (1991) Despite winning championships, the company faced bankruptcy in 1991. But you can't keep a good brand down! They restructured, split into different entities, and in 1998, they officially adopted the iconic "Orange" branding we know and love today.

🏆 The Global Giant Since then, they have cemented their status as an off-road legend with countless Motocross World Championships and a record 13 consecutive Dakar Rally wins. Today, the company continues to evolve (now under Bajaj Auto), but the heart of Mattighofen still beats strong.

🫁 LET YOUR BIKE BREATHE! WHY A CLEAN AIR FILTER IS YOUR ENGINE'S BEST FRIEND

We talk a lot about horsepower and performance upgrades, but none of that matters if your bike can't breathe. The air filter is the unsung hero of your motorcycle—it’s the only thing standing between your expensive engine and the dust, dirt, and sand of the trail.

Here is why you need to check, clean, and replace your air filter regularly:

⚡Performance A clogged air filter chokes your engine. It restricts airflow, messing up the air/fuel mixture.
This leads to:
Loss of power and throttle response.
Hard starting.
Poor fuel efficiency.

💀Engine Longevity (The Big One!) This is the scary part. If your filter is dirty, torn, or not oiled correctly, microscopic dust particles will get past it. Once inside, that dust acts like sandpaper in your engine. It scores the cylinder walls and ruins the piston rings.
Result: Premature engine failure and a costly rebuild. 😱

🎙️ FUN FACT FRIDAY: PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN! 🏁

This week, we are shining the spotlight on Camden McLellan, a young man who is putting South African motocross on the global map!

Born in 2004, Camden has been a force to be reckoned with since his early days. In 2018, he made history by becoming the first South African rider ever to win a title in the European Motocross Championship, taking the victory in the EMX85 class. 🏆

But his career has just leveled up! 🚀 Camden is currently signed to the Monster Energy Triumph Racing team, playing a pivotal role in the legendary brand's return to the sport.

The Huge Moment: At the 2025 MXGP of Trentino, Camden achieved something massive. He won the first race in the MX2 class, marking Triumph's very first world championship-level race win since their comeback!

He has also proudly represented the Green and Gold, representing South Africa at the Motocross of Nations on five separate occasions (including the 2025 edition).
