🏁 ROUND 7 | KZN SUPER SPRINT SERIES | DEZZI RACEWAY 🏁
Round 7 of the KZN Super Sprint Series took place on Saturday, 10 October, and what a fantastic day of racing it turned out to be!
The Castrol/Auto Complete Mini was all prepared and ready to go! With a few setup changes made ahead of the meeting, were keen to see how the car would respond, and I’m delighted to report that it was absolutely amazing on race day! 🔥
After a good qualifying session, our three races were combined with the Sports and GT class, which meant the little Mini was mixing it up with some seriously impressive machinery, including the big Backdraft Racing South Africa Cobras. The crowd loved it, and I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge!
Race 1 delivered some fantastic racing, with great battles against Dave Armstrong and Ross Hill in their Backdraft Cobras, as well as Rob Prece in his Pre-90 Golf. Sadly, Rob’s car sustained damage in another race, meaning that he had to change cars for our races 2 and 3.
That left the Mini to continue its battle with the Cobras for the remaining races. They certainly have the advantage on the straights, but we make up ground under braking and through the corners! 💪 It made for some great racing and plenty of fun behind the wheel.
All in all, a brilliant day, with the Mini taking the class win for the day! 🏆
We now look forward to the season finale on 14 November 2026 — Round 8 of the championship. It’s a double-points meeting, so there’s still plenty to play for!
