Two things are happening today.
The Boks play the All Blacks at 17:10 in Cape Town.
R622 early bird entries close at midnight. R2 150 now, R2 950 tomorrow.
Do the second one before the first one. You are not going to be thinking about mountain biking at 19:30 tonight, and you are definitely not thinking about it at 22:00.
R622 MTB Trails, 16 to 18 October, Oaksprings Farm in the KZN Midlands. Two days, 110km, 40km of it singletrack across private farms, forests and wetlands that are closed to riding the rest of the year. Entry covers the race village, access to camping, every meal, a goodie bag and medics on course.

There are 18 beds at the race venue, and when they are gone they are gone.

The thatch house sleeps 10 across five rooms, two of them ensuite and the other three sharing a bathroom. It goes as a whole house, R9 000 for the weekend. Get nine mates together and it lands under most places in the Midlands on a race weekend, with the advantage that you are already at the start.

The cottages are R550 per person per night. The two twin cottages have their own bathrooms. The four sleeper has a main bedroom, a bunk room, one bathroom and a full kitchen.

None of this cuts you off from the weekend. The race village is a short walk from your door, and the camp facilities are open to you as well. The food, the beers, the prizegiving, the whole thing is right there. You just get to walk away from it when you have had enough.

All of it is on the farm. No 05:00 drive, no packing a wet tent on Sunday, no hunting for parking. You walk to the start and you walk back to your own room.

Meals in the race village are included if you are an entered rider or on a supporter package.

Early bird closes this Saturday, 29 August.

Enter before then and you ride R622 MTB Trails for R2 150. From Sunday the price goes to R2 950.

R622 is a two-day mountain bike stage race on Oaksprings Farm in the KZN Midlands, 16 to 18 October. Day one is 60km, day two is 50km, and 40km of the 110km is singletrack. It runs across private farms, forests and wetlands that are closed to riding the rest of the year.

Your entry includes the race village with camping and facilities, all meals for the weekend, a goodie bag, a 24 hour tea and coffee station, medics on course and two water points each day. Supporters are R1 800 for adults and R1 100 for children under 12, with the same village, food and facilities.

Early bird entries are limited and they close Saturday.
