NEED A TOW TRUCK? WHAT YOU TELL US MATTERS.

When you’re stranded on the side of the road, every minute counts but before we can get to you, we need a few important details.

• Your exact location: Share a pin on WhatsApp if possible.
• Your vehicle: Make, model and colour.
• The problem: Breakdown, accident, stuck vehicle or something else.
• Your surroundings: Are you safely off the road, or blocking traffic.
• Your contact number: So our driver can reach you if needed.

The clearer the information, the easier it is for us to send the right assistance to the right place.

CAR OF THE WEEK: THE GR86.

Not every car that comes through MTEK is here because of a major accident.

This GR86 came in for repairs to stone chips and road rash on the front end, giving our team the chance to bring this red beauty back to its best.

And here’s a cool fact: the GR86 uses a naturally aspirated 2.4L boxer engine mounted low in the chassis, paired with rear-wheel drive helping give it the low centre of gravity and balanced handling it’s known for.

SAFETY STARTS WITH THE RIGHT GEAR.

Working with metal, grinders and sparks means PPE isn’t optional it’s part of doing the job properly.

In this shot, our panelbeater is working on a subframe with the right protection in place:

• Gloves - help protect hands from heat, sharp edges and sparks.
• Eye protection - shields against flying particles and grinding debris.
• Protective clothing - helps protect the body from sparks, heat and abrasion.
• Safety footwear - protects feet from dropped objects, sharp materials and workshop hazards.

Something we’ve noticed over time is that accidents seem to increase over the weekend and our towing team definitely sees the difference.

SOMETIMES, BEING THERE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING.

After recent attacks on women and runners in other parts of the country and an incident on the Kaapsehoop Road itself, the Nelspruit Early Bird runners were understandably concerned about their safety.

So yesterday morning, our MTEK Towing team joined them on their run to take back this running route by providing visible support vehicles along the route.

We’re proud to be part of a community that looks out for one another.

If our presence helps someone feel safer doing what they love, we’ll be there.
