Mining Logistics: From Durban to the Mines of Zambia & the DRC
Getting mining equipment to its destination takes more than just transport, especially when the journey involves multiple stages and international borders.
Our Atrax Logistics team recently managed the movement of mining equipment arriving by sea freight at the Port of Durban, destined for mining operations in Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
Following arrival, the containers were transported to our Durban bonded warehouse, where the cargo was unpacked, handled and prepared for onward transport. The equipment was then reloaded onto trucks for the cross border journey to the respective mining sites.
From sea freight imports and bonded warehousing to cargo handling and cross border road freight, our team coordinated the different stages involved in moving this equipment from port to mine.
A good example of how careful planning and teamwork help bring each stage of a shipment together.
