Incredible experience, fast, efficient, professional and polite, and they absolutely know their turbo systems.

Got some horrifying quotes from other vendors, from R35k to "just write it off". These guys repaired my broken Volvo V60 Turbo, took 2 days, and didn't charge me anything near that. Friendly and knowledgeable - I'm going to spread the word! Came with an easy-to-understand guide for the mechanic, just so that all bases are covered.

My 2014 BMW 320d was towed to Hi Tech Turbo in Malvern East on 30 June 2022. I had received an astronomical quote from a specialist BMW Motor Mechanic in Wynberg. I was told by this place that I should consider myself unlucky as my turbo's actuator could not be repaired or reconditioned and that I would therefore need a brand new turbo. The quote was for R52 654.

Obviously I needed a second opinion so I found Hi Tech Turbo on the internet who had 28 excellent reviews and only one bad review. Their average review was 4.8 out of 5.0. I received a wonderful personalized service from the owner, Hayden, who even phoned me after hours to discuss my car's problem.

They were extremely professional at all times. They managed to repair/recondition my turbo including the actuator for a total cost of R18 959. The invoice was paid in full by my extended warranty policy which covered me for R10 000 + another R10 000 for a "top up" warranty I had purchased. Hayden also negotiated with the assessor at the warranty company.

What I loved the most is that they gave me a warranty on the reconditioned turbo and their workmanship. My car is going beautifully and I have the peace of mind of a long warranty just in case. I highly recommend Hi Tech Turbo to anyone who needs to have their car's turbo repaired/reconditioned.
