318i 2018 with B38 engine,, An engine associated with water leaks,,, It sounds small but a big problem that has made good engines scrap, If a car leaks some of the coolant from the system it will drive even without overheating but it will drive above its maximum operation temperature, a danger to most engine components and primarily the head gasket. E90 320i n46 with coolant leaking into the combustion chambers caused by block corrosion which came about by running a long time without coolant. Water molecules are reactive with metallic block components that leads to corrosion. Oxidation takes place and suddenly eats away the block edges creating passages for water on areas supposed to be air-tight.

N13 engine one of the most problematic engines,,, with timing chain problems Vanos system failures and overheating issues. Bellow is an N13 on f30 316i body, Overheated and blew the head gasket.A complete engine rebuild was necessary with new original parts and done perfectly.
