A new client recently brought his 3.0L Diesel Toyota Hilux to our workshop, initially just looking for a quick, simple oil change. Because it was his first visit with us, we recommended stepping it up to a comprehensive Major Service instead. That meant replacing all vital filters—engine oil filter, air filter, diesel fuel filter, and the cabin pollen filter—alongside our precise 90-point inspection check.
That recommendation saved this Hilux owner from a massive mechanical headache.
When we pulled the diesel filter, we uncovered extreme fuel contamination and sludge that had settled right into the tank. Running dirty, contaminated diesel through a modern high-pressure common-rail system is a fast track to disaster—starving the engine, drastically hurting fuel economy, and eventually destroying expensive fuel injectors and high-pressure fuel pumps costing tens of thousands of Rands to replace.
We immediately flagged this with the owner and advised a full fuel tank and system cleanout, paired with a specialized Wynn’s Fuel Purge treatment to thoroughly clean, flush, and protect the fuel pump, lines, injectors, and sensitive rail sensors.
The client gave us the green light, and the results in these clips speak for themselves. One very lucky Hilux owner who drove away with clean power, optimal fuel consumption, and full peace of mind.
Times are tough, and we know everyone wants to keep running costs down. But skipping essential filters to save a few hundred Rands almost always ends up costing thousands later at the pumps and in avoidable repair bills. We believe in using only proven, premium products and doing the job thoroughly—giving you maximum vehicle longevity at the fairest price possible.
Don’t wait for a breakdown to find out what’s hiding in your tank. Send us a message or call the workshop to book your bakkie in for a proper service and check-up! 🔧🚗
