Overheated vehicle

What is happening in this pictures is that this vehicle was confirmed to have overheated, we stripped the cylinder head to see the damage.

But this is the danger most technicians make they focus on the cylinder head damages and forget that the block might have been affected too, and when they finish the vehicle is not 100%.

So what we do we don't focus on the cylinder head only we check the block too by removing the pistons with no extra cost, it's part of the diagnosis.

Driver's window not working.

The customer came complaining about the driver's window not working.

Upon inspection we found that the main window switch is working, and the window mechanism, but the motor is not turning but heating up.

Therefore we replaced the motor and got the window working properly once again.

Pistons with holes❗

The customer towed the vehicle to the workshop complaining about loss of power and unusual exhaust smoke.

We did a compression test with tests the pressure inside the pistons cylinders, and the car failed the test😔.

To see what's causing this we had to strip the engine and see the damage inside, after stripping we found a piston with a hole, the piston was the cause.

We did an engine overhaul to solve the problem and the vehicle is now running smoothly

METAL TO METAL BRAKES❗

The customer came into our workshop complaining about a sound when he applies the brakes.

Upon inspection we found that the Brake pads are completely finished and it was already metal to metal.

Here's a takeaway, do not ignore any unusual sound coming from your car like our customer here, bring it to the workshop we will check it it out, advice you anf fix the problem.

Rebuilding Engine VS Another Engine

I've customers asking if buying another engine is better that rebuilding one.

Buying and refiting another engine is safe and quicker but also rebuilding is safe, it take long till the car get on the road, prices can vary depending on the make of the car, rebuilding can be costly compared to another engine in some car and the opposite in other cars.

So this choice depends on how long can you survive without that can and how much you are willing to spend.

It was brought into the workshop with the customer complaining about a very bad hard start and misfiring

Upon inspection we found that the vehicle compression is low and we need to do an engine overhaul.

We made a quotation for the customer and got a green light.

The job was done successfully and the Tazz is running very smoothly.
