⚙️ A small detail that makes a massive difference.
With CIMAT machines, the turbocharger is mounted in its NATURAL operating position — exactly as it sits on the engine block.
The movable support lets you rotate and precisely position the turbo.
With other machines? Vertical only. No rotation. No flexibility.
Why does this matter? Because a test must reflect real-world conditions. Otherwise it's not a test — it's a guess.

Why do you need to flow a turbocharger? 🤔

Variable nozzle turbochargers have been shaping diesel engine performance since their introduction in the mid‑90s. As emissions standards tightened from Euro 4 to Euro 6, turbo and engine technology became far more complex ⚙️.

Today, precise control of the variable nozzles is critical to correct turbo operation and emissions compliance. This has created new challenges for turbo repairers, as later‑model turbos now require specialist equipment—such as an air flow rig—to ensure they’re set up accurately 🔧.

🚨 Did you know? Insufficient lubrication is still a leading cause of turbocharger failure 🚨

As turbocharger and engine technology continues to advance, one critical issue hasn’t gone away. Insufficient lubrication remains a major cause of turbocharger failures seen in workshops today.

At Melett, we’re reminding technicians that lubrication-related faults are often linked to wider engine oil supply issues — not the turbocharger itself. Left unchecked, these problems can lead to rapid, costly damage.

✅ Early identification is key
✅ Check the full oil system, not just the turbo
✅ Prevent unnecessary failures and downtime
