Guys I just want to say that you must have a pair of clear riding glasses in your bike.
Say suppose you left in the afternoon and rode well into nightfall, your sunglasses will be of no help. It can actually cause you to lose your life.
From day one I have always had a clear glasses in my bike for the same reason.
If you feel you can ride without any glasses at night because you have a big windshield in front of you....
BIG MISTAKE!!
Then also if you got caught in pouring rain you would be doomed as the raindrops pelt your eyes hard.
Last week as I was riding home one of the nights I had my clear riding glasses on and out of the blue something hit my glasses. Hard.
I realized that if I wasn't wearing them I most probably would have lost my eye.
That object, not sure if a stone or piece of wood, would have taken my one eye out.
It came at me from like a 45 degree angle.
Just a tip here to help the guys.
If something hit your hand or any other part of the body, it will heal.
If your eye got hit you lose that eye permanently.
Just something to think about.

TIPS & TRICKS FROM WING MASTER ( Number 2 )
The factory windshields on the GL1500 are little taller than the factory windshields on the GL1800.
On the GL1500, the rider usually looks through the shield unless of course the rider is very tall, then in which case he might find himself looking over the windshield whilst riding.
On the GL1800 it is another story altogether. Most riders are usually irritated by the fact that their line of sight to the road ahead is often almost exactly on the edge of the windshield, or slightly below the windshield edge. So they are bombarded with a lot of wind in their faces whilst riding. Not a comfortable experience!
If you thought that this was a factory fault, let me reassure you that it is not.
Honda took an average height of riders and created the windshield to make it a FAIL SAFE system. Meaning that in the event of, say suppose a splash of mud or rain, or anything else for that matter, hit your windshield whilst riding then you could always look over the windshield to see ahead. If the windshield was taller and you hit a mud patch suddenly or encountered heavy rain whilst riding then you would not be able to see the road ahead and thereby crash
Remember it only takes a second or two, sometimes just a split second of your windscreen being blocked, to crash. so hence the shorter windshield on the Gl1800.

TIPS & TRICKS FROM WING MASTER (Number 1)
Never stand on these rider footpegs whilst your bike is in motion. Even at low parking lot speeds.
The footpeg mount is made of an alloy material and is not designed to carry the full weight of a rider. If it was then it would have been constructed out of heavy duty steel, just like the side stand or main centre stand. If you stand on this footpeg whilst the bike is in motion and think to yourself that nothing will happen, this is the way it works, from an engineering perspective ( i have a mechanical engineering background )....say maybe you stood on this peg about five times already and nothing happened. Fine.
On the sixth time you may not be so lucky since metal fatigue of the footpeg mount, which you cannot detect, can cause the peg to snap off whilst you are standing on it, with the bike in motion. When that happens you will cause severe damage to your leg, even at slow parking lot speeds. You may even lose a leg.
At city or highway speeds, if the footpeg snaps, the bike will spin out of control and i'll leave that to your imagination as to what disaster that will cause.
On a trike the chances of losing a leg is probably ten times higher.
