Three Years. One Dream.

When we started That Guys Autoworx, we didn't have a fancy showroom, a national brand behind us, or millions to spend on advertising.

We had a small workshop, a handful of tools, and a belief that if we treated every customer's vehicle as if it were our own, people would notice.

This year we were named 3rd Place in the Best of Durban Readers' Choice Awards – Best Car Service & Repair, and while some may only see a trophy, we see something far greater.

We see every late night spent finishing a vehicle because a customer needed it the next morning.

We see weekends sacrificed, hands covered in grease, difficult diagnostics, and the constant drive to improve.
We see every client who trusted an independent workshop instead of a large dealership or national franchise.

To stand on the same stage as companies with multiple branches, massive marketing budgets, and decades of brand recognition is something we never take for granted.
We're a local, independent workshop from Pinetown.

Yet because of your trust and your votes, we've proven that genuine service, honesty, and quality workmanship can compete with anyone.

Being recognised as a Best of Durban Finalist for three consecutive years is something we're incredibly proud of. To finish in the Top 3 this year is a milestone that reminds us why we started this journey in the first place.

This award doesn't belong to us alone.

From working under an awning at home with nothing more than a 74-piece Gedore toolbox, a few tyres for safety, and sometimes even the jack from a customer's car, to building a workshop I once only dreamed about.

Slowly upgrading from a bench vice and basic tools to hydraulic presses, OEM special tools, and the latest diagnostic equipment. Early mornings from 04:30 and late nights to keep customers on the road often meant sacrificing family time, money, and comfort.

What seemed impossible became reality through faith in God's plan, the support of family, friends, former colleagues, managers, and those who believed in me when I couldn't yet see the outcome.

From a toolbox to a workshop. From homemade tools to industry-leading equipment.

As That Guys Autoworx turns 4 years old, I just want to take a moment to thank every single person that has been part of this journey. 🙏

From the days of working from home with one toolbox and homemade special tools, to building the workshop we have today — it’s been one incredible ride filled with hard work, sacrifices, lessons and growth.

To the guys who stood by me from the beginning, thank you. Some have moved on and some are still here, but every single person who crossed paths with the workshop played a role in helping shape this journey, and for that I’ll always be grateful.

To my current team — thank you for wearing our logo with pride, keeping our standards high, and treating every vehicle and customer with care and respect. The workshop would not be what it is without all of you.

To my wife — thank you for your endless support, sacrifices, input and for standing beside me through everything. From preschool teacher to workshop manager, you stepped into this crazy journey with me and helped carry the dream when things were tough. I appreciate you more than words can explain.
