I was very fortunate yesterday as the owner of Idube Vehicle Recoveries to visit Lenasia pound where one of my employees is working daily. He took me through a small area of the premises. The SAPS personnel I saw while there, were positive, helpful and dedicated to get the vehicles out as quick as possible.
The security was helpful as well and all round it is a well-managed vehicle safe guarding unit.
I can see that Colonel Mamida and his team are managing the pound efficiently. I would like to thank him and his management for the outstanding work they do.

Recently we received queries from claims advisors and owners, that their vehicle is still reported as stolen or the vehicle clearance has not been done, due to the following status on the E-Natis printout they received from the licence office:

“Vehicle status: Pending (Notified of stolen/Scrapped/demolish)”

This mark only means that your vehicle licence has been cancelled after your vehicle has been stolen or hi-jacked. This is normal and prevents the following on the E-Natis system:

1. Fraudulent transactions.
2. Continuation of licence fees.

Example of an in order E-Natis 161 printout statuses:

Vehicle states: Pending (Notified of stolen/Scrapped/demolish)
Roadworthy(S): Roadworthy/Unroadworthy
Police mark: None
Police clearance: Cleared
Owner status: Current

How to remove the mark:

RENEW YOUR VEHICLE LICENCE.

Please be advised that this can only be done at your local licence department and you cannot use a third-party institution like the Post office, banks etc. For a more in depth explanation, an email can be sent to [email protected] and it will be forwarded to you. Please use reference “Pending (Notified of stolen/Scrapped/demolish)”.
