Colesberg Garage motor Inn and Colesberg Coniston Guesthouse were built in 1835 as a General store and Mr. Pluman's House. The top floor of the General store was build in 1850 and used to be the movie 🎥 hall to watch Silent movies of Charlie Chaplin and the Three Stooges. The first Diamond 💎 was brought to the Store by one of the "reps" Mr. O'Reilly, who brought it from Hopetown. Eventually, a group of young men left to search for diamonds in Kimberley. The Coleskop hill became the Grootgat. 1925 it became the Wool store and Ox wagons delivered wool on a daily basis. 1928 it became the Wilcox Garage. 1935 Mr. Luther Norval bought the establishment from Mr. Abie Pienaar and is still a family business.
