A set of Toyota GR Yaris injectors came in for testing...
No2 injector has solenoid failure which caused extremely lean running on that cylinder which resulted in piston failure... 1 & 3 injectors were serviced & sent back to the customer.

So the last few weeks were crazy... I was given the opportunity to run a very special race car in the SA Endurance Series race at Killarney on 1 Aug... Problem: it was 10 days & the car was in Jhb & still needed to be prepared. As always this was done extremely well by my friend Franco di Matteo Racing & the car was loaded for CT the Tuesday before race day...
We offloaded it the thursday morning only hours before the driver & techie arrived from Australia.
Within 3 laps Daniel, did a 1"11.6 on old tyres & having never seen Killarney before. He got down to the high 10's before we gave him newer tyres & got down to low 10's. Come quali & we bolted a brand new set of Dunlop slicks... Times dropped & he 5 laps below 09's with the fastest 1"08.63 ... extremely fast times!!
The weekend was absolutely fantastic with now issues coming 2nd in Sports&Gt class & 3rd in 1hr dash...

Something different from the usual injector work...
I was asked to advise on a quote a "little 81 yr old" lady got from a dealership to repair her cars electric power steering which stopped working. She received a quote for replacing the power steering unit, front suspension components & even the wiper blades.... for a cool *R 154 000* which was the value of her car & obviously she couldn't afford it..
I suggested that we have a look & performed a diagnostic test... to see if we could assist in any way...

Few hours later, electric power steering was working, no new parts needed & the next day, she was back on the road... Even with a full service & repairs to EPS the bill was less than 8% of what Lexus had quoted...

Thats the difference between understanding what you are diagnosing, reading a computer & sucking your thumb, thinking that you're a master dealer technician!!!

Where it all started, the original workshop, Marsiglia Motors was my Dad's for 32 years. Then I became a Bosch appointed fuel injection specialist workshop & Cape Fuel Injection Centre began in 1997...

2 sets of Mazda injectors, 25+yrs apart in production. Both sets serviced by me recently - Etude injectors are old school port injectors & the CX3 injectors are high pressure GDi direct injection. CX3 set is warranty from dealers.

October saw us supporting Di Matteo Racing in the IRC MUSTANG at the Cape Classic Hillclimb. This is a new car imported from Australia. The car usually raced in Endurance Series but we decided to show it off a little. Unfortunately we developed an issue with the electric power steering & worthdrew in the name of safety. 205km/h into a corner & not knowing if power steering is going to work or not is crazy... We are the SA Agents for these cars now. They come in 4 body shapes, Mustang, Camaro, Merc & Aston.
