We’ve been quiet… so here’s your reminder: “just quickly check it” is never quick 😄

Customer: “Starter not working… uncle says it’s just bushes, how much?”

Workshop reality: 💀
🔥 Melted windings
🔥 Burnt insulation
🔥 Starter looks like it tried to weld itself to the engine

… officially retired starter.

No bushes.
No hammer trick.
No “just clean it”.

Just electrical devastation.

Moral: if it was diagnosed over a braai… still bring it to people with a multimeter 😂

We fix cars.
Not campfire theories.

🔧 We recently had the pleasure of hosting a learner from Bellville Technical High School for job shadowing at Riaan’s Auto Repairs.

During his time with us, Glody Bantu showed great eagerness to learn, a positive attitude, and a solid understanding of the motor industry and workshop environment.
We’re proud to present him with a Certificate of Acknowledgement and wish him all the best with his future in the automotive trade.

Right now, we’re replacing our old asbestos roof at 12 Huguenot Street with a brand new, environmentally safe one. 🚧
A big thank you to Reno Roofs for the professional installation and to HMS – Occupational Hygiene Monitoring Services for overseeing the process in full compliance with Asbestos Regulations 11(2). Safety first — for our team, our customers, and our community. 💪

And we’re not stopping there! ⚡
Next up, we’ll be partnering with Durbanville Electrical and Lighting to install solar power, reducing our carbon footprint and taking another step toward a sustainable, energy-efficient workshop. ☀️

We are extremely proud of Thys van Zyl, who is serving as a Provincial Skills Adjudicator on behalf of Retail Motor Industry Organisation - RMI/MIWA at the WCED Provincial Skills Competition 2025 👏

This exciting event takes place on 29 & 30 August 2025, covering various subjects and categories at HTS Bellville – including Mechanical Technology: Automotive, Welding, Fitting & Machining, and many more.

It’s an honor to see one of our own representing the industry at this level, sharing his knowledge and passion with the next generation of skilled professionals. 💪
