An early 04:30 start this morning as the BMWMCC Moto Marshals headed out to Brandvlei Maximum Security Prison to support the 2026 Prison Break Triathlon!

Four of us were on duty, all chauffeuring officials and photographers on our motorcycles — two race commissaires and two photographers, helping keep the event running smoothly and capturing all the action.

☀️ Perfect weather conditions made for a fantastic day for the participants!

What a ride! Perfect weather, fantastic roads and a great bunch of riders!

This morning 29 bikes and 34 riders and pillions headed out to the Black Marlin Restaurant at Miller’s Point. Allan and Lee led the way, with Jonathan bringing up the rear as our sweeper. 👏

From the city we headed south along the winding coastal roads, including the magnificent Chapman’s Peak Drive.

It may have been one of our shorter rides by distance, but it still took almost 2½ hours to cover the route. With clear blue skies, virtually no wind and perfect riding temperatures, nobody was in any hurry!

The Black Marlin proved to be an excellent breakfast destination, with a fantastic oceanfront setting and fast, efficient service.

Great roads. Great company. Another memorable BMWMCC morning in the Cape!

Thanks to everyone who joined us — see you on the next one!

Thank you Danie for your insights to a day marshalling this years Race to the Sea.

The past weekend saw another Race-to-the-Sea cycle event. The BMWMotoMarshalls were again on duty, escourting the riders along the route. As the sweeper, I followed the last rider/s over the route. The tail-end riders that I followed were not very quick, so I had a lot of opportunity for...

What a brilliant spring morning for our BMWMCC breakfast run to the Copper Kettle just outside Hopefield!

28 of us on 24 bikes joined the ride, with Simon leading the way and Jonathan doing a sterling job sweeping the group and making sure no one got left behind!

Beautiful roads, happy riders and plenty of BMWs heading into the countryside. The Copper Kettle looked after us with a warm welcome, tasty breakfasts and plenty of cold drinks and coffee.

But some of us clearly hadn’t ridden far enough… 😂

After breakfast, a group of us added another 15 km to the trip and headed to the wonderfully quirky Plaasmol Padstal — complete with creative creations, a donkey 🫏, assorted animal, and obviously an old Dakota aeroplane! Always a great photo stop.

Great roads. Brilliant company. Another fantastic BMWMCC morning — Ride. Explore. Enjoy. ❤️
