🔵 1971 Ford Capri 2000 GT
Under the hood sits a 2.0L Essex V4 producing around 93 PS (92 hp DIN) and 140 Nm of torque. Paired with a 4-speed manual and rear-wheel drive, the Capri combined sporty styling with everyday usability and became one of Ford of Europe’s most recognizable coupes.

🟡 1971 Opel Manta SR 1900
The Manta fights back with a 1.9L inline-four producing 90 PS (89 hp DIN) and around 146 Nm of torque. Its 4-speed manual, RWD layout and approximately 170 km/h top speed made the sporty SR a serious rival in the European coupe market.

The Capri brings the muscular long-hood character, while the Manta delivers clean German styling and a slightly lighter, more understated personality. More than five decades later, both remain brilliant reminders of an era when a fun sports coupe didn’t need huge horsepower or complicated technology.

Cars used to be a lot more colorful.

In 1996, black, white, gray and silver together accounted for just 47.3% of the cars on the road. By 2025, that figure had climbed to 80.4%.

That means four out of every five cars in the latest iSeeCars analysis were painted in one of those four grayscale colors.

The biggest change has been gray.

In 1996, only about 3.6% of cars were gray. By 2025, gray had become one of the most common choices, accounting for 22.9% of the market.

Meanwhile, some of the colors that once made cars stand out have steadily faded. Red fell from 20.1% in 1996 to 7.0% in 2025, while green dropped from 13.4% to just 2.2%.

There are practical reasons for some of this. Neutral colors can be easier to resell, work across different vehicle styles and appeal to a wider range of buyers. Automakers also have incentives to produce colors that are likely to remain broadly popular.

But something else has happened along the way.

The car parked next to you today is increasingly likely to look almost identical in color to the one parked beside it.

A road that once contained more reds, greens, blues, yellows and other distinctive shades has gradually become a sea of white, black, gray and silver.

According to iSeeCars, the automotive color palette has become dramatically less diverse over the past three decades.

Maybe the strangest part isn’t that gray became popular.

It’s that color itself has become the less common choice.

In the early 90s Fiat returned and changed affordable motoring.
Uno Fire 1.1 came in a 3 door and a 5 Door.
The 1.4 version was named the Pacer and only had 5 door versions.The Pacer Sx had semi color coded bumpers , sportier seats spots and electric windows.

The true pocket rocket came in the form of the UNo Turbo 3 door with it's beautifull alloys semi leather trim and it distinctive red line in the bumpers . These were all MK 2's with a turbo charged 1.4 l engine producing round 85 KW
With is light weight of under a ton it swooshed to 100 km/h in just over 8 seconds.
Top speed was just over 200km/hour.
Upgrade the sound with a couple of 6x9s in the rear , an Ice amp and an Alpine radio and you were in the red zone as a young man.

Nostalgic motoring that made a generation enjoy cars and speed was definitely the priority.
Safety was something you practised else where.
