Here is the problem we came across with housings that has been polished or like some people say resufaced. If you wipe it with this blue chemical it shows where the factory chrome has been polished through and it turns brownish color. This will cause the apex seal to pick up the softer material and destroy the housing.

This is a rechromed 13b PP housing. We have been working on this process for the last 4 to 5 years to strip of all the old chrome, rechrome the housing and bring it back to standard. This can be done to 13b housings that has score marks that has not gone through the steel insert into the alliminium. 10A and 12A housings don't have a steel insert so unfortunately we aren't able to rechrome them but are looking into it.
