From No Gears To Ready For Work
The customer reported that the vehicle had no gears, so our team attended to the complaint and began the diagnostic process.
On inspection, we found that the TCU, or Transmission Control Unit, was not responding and could not be reprogrammed. The unit was replaced, but further testing showed an additional gear engagement issue.
We traced this to a faulty clutch, which meant the transmission needed to be removed and inspected for possible internal wear or shift damage.
Once opened, we found excessive wear on the GV and GP synchro packs. All worn parts and bearings were replaced, and the pneumatic shift system was cleaned and fitted with a shift service kit.
The transmission was repaired, a new clutch was fitted, and the unit was installed back into the vehicle.
After final testing and checks, the vehicle was ready for delivery back to the customer.
