I’d like to share a comment I received 4 days ago on one of my posts in a Facebook group about how VAs can step into Project Management roles,

‘Yeah, the only issue is they want people with experience.’ (I shared my actual answer in the images below)

Here’s my take

It’s a valid concern, but here’s the truth—experience often starts with just one ‘yes.’ I shared my journey from leaving the corporate to landing a VA role, quickly becoming a team trainer, and eventually growing into a Project Manager position.

The key? Presenting my skills creatively, learning from mentors, and the mindset I got from Steve Martin “being so good they couldn’t ignore me.”

Don’t underestimate the value of your skills—package them well and put yourself out there! 💪

The real game-changer isn't your title – it's recognizing the power of what you already know and your commitment to growing that knowledge. Every skill you've mastered is a building block for your PM future.

Your current title doesn't limit your future potential. It's simply your launching pad to something bigger. The question isn't whether you can become a PM – it's how far you'll go once you embrace both your existing capabilities and your capacity for growth.

Remember: Every expert PM started somewhere. The difference is they chose to start.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
