2020 - LayNPlay is official at this point, I have a day job but my head isn’t in it, all I can think about is building the brand along with James 'bains' Kelly who’s been getting daily phone calls and texts for a couple years! I decide I need a flagship car, something that can do everything, hop/3-wheel/drive reliably and man would that old 97 Towncar be perfect about now! And by some miracle a low miles, one owner 91 comes up for sale in Essex (for £2500!!!), Covid forces sale, it’s perfect, so without even looking at it I pay the deposit and arrange for it to go direct to Patrick Banks - I don’t do reinforcement work, I don’t have the facilities here but Pat does, and he’s the absolute best in the game, so he completes a partial frame wrap, adds extended cadillac upper arms and reinforces the axle and suspension ready for it to come home for me to complete the 3 pump Alex Hoppos HOPPO'S INC install. Named ‘Sin Agenda Oculta’ (I hope that means No Hidden Agenda!) by pinstripingbymike with added paint touches by Robert Christopher Beckett and Matt Danger Marson it’s been a perfect advert for LayNPlay, if I was to list everyone who’s been involved (as ever Matt Loxston needs a significant mention for helping keep the linc rolling). This post would go on for ever! I can’t thank all those people enough. When this car was built LayNPlay had some haters, folks who doubted our intentions were for the good of the UK Lowriding community, and I expect there’s still a few, but the past 6 years have been unbelievable for Lowriding here, and I don’t wish to take credit for that, but there wasn’t and will never be a hidden agenda, my accountant will tell you that! 😂

2015 - The Elco, something I’d wanted for a long time and it all started in New Mexico with fellow Tru-Rydaz President Patrick Jason Montoya who found the base vehicle, wrapped the chassis and put it in a container bound for the UK. As soon as it landed me and Matt Loxston with the help of the previously mentioned J*p (along with many others including my Mum who trimmed the interior) flew into action, the car was registered, I drove around a little before Tony hooked up the body and paint. The first full custom lowrider I’d ever worked on and yes I do still own it although it’s sat now for way too long having had some issues with running gear (it actually broke down in Rotterdam and took a few weeks to be returned home). I’ve got an unbelievable amount of parts for this car strewn across workshops and storage spaces, it deserves to be reborn, will 2027 be the year? I really do hope so.

Ammo’s 65 Episode 20 - We’re almost done! Last week was spent getting that rear end and prop back together and it all seems to be working fine. The car’s back on it wheels, brakes have been tested (check the state of the old brake booster in the video) it fires up lovely, the trans leak appear to be under control but I still think the box needs a rebuild at some point. I just need to change the lower ball joints as one looked a bit ropey when I came to aligning the front wheels, fingers crossed they’ll be here Wednesday. I ended the day focussed on making that incredible engine bay shine again, and boy did it come up well!

2013 - I bought my first house and a sensible daily, Lowriding had to take a back seat, I mean, I couldn’t afford to keep wasting money on stupid cars could I? I was a dad, a homeowner, I had bills to pay! Anyway the bank lent me £3500 and I bought a 97 Towncar off OG David Rees 😂 fortunately this was the most dependable lowrider I’d ever owned, no matter how much abuse it got it was always a quick fix and back out rolling, I loved this car but deep down I had an itch to build another hopper, serious plans bubbled under the surface and as reliable as the Lincoln was, it just wasn’t stupid enough so I sold it. Fun fact, the buyer crashed it about 2 miles from my house 🤦🏻‍♂️😂 crazy to think this car is still going after FIVE more owners! Only now it’s blue and owned by Josh Pearce

2011 - The regal is all but gone, I don’t think I’ve got the minerals to save it, so what is an idiot with a lowrider addiction to do? That’s right, get drunk, bid on your old 190 on eBay, win, have it transported without even looking at it, it’s now blue, it’s more rotted out than ever and runs like a one legged zebra. Anyone with any sense would have scrapped it there and then. But no, the gang got together (again) and fixed it up, a bunch of welding, a new 2 pump 4 battery install, wire wheels (finally) and fresh paint! Turned out pretty good but in reality it was still awful, I didn’t own it long before it sold, pretty sure the exhaust fell off halfway to Scotland and not long after that it finally ended up in the scrap yard. I bought the juice and wheels back which set the foundation for the next euro build 👀

2010 - Regrettably, towards the end of the ‘noughties’ I sold the Cutlass (for £1500😐) I guess I felt it was time to move on! Two trips to the Lowrider Supershow had influenced me and I wanted to build a hopper, another good friend Devon based Lee sold me his Gold 83 Buick Regal and during that second trip to Vegas I came home with a BMH Piston Pump and Adel dump. This time the build was planned at the local garage, body off, freshly trimmed interior (by Lee), frame wrap, rust repairs and white paint (completed in a Gazebo) and to give ourselves credit, me Matt Loxston did a pretty good job of the paint considering the available facilities and time frame! But alas trying to wrap a frame in a weekend was a mistake, and that mistake lead to a pretty critical failure of the front spring pockets! Suffice to say, this Regal didn’t last very long 😂
