There is an old Russian saying: “Trouble never comes alone.”
While my son is fighting a severe illness, our home in Vietnam was hit by a devastating flood. In a single moment, everything we owned was destroyed.
Our house with all our belongings, my personal motorcycles, the entire rental fleet, all the tools and equipment of WTF CUSTOMS, and even the bar I had been building in our yard for so long — everything went underwater.
One evening — and suddenly you have nothing left.
The attached videos show our story:
the aftermath of the flood, mud and debris everywhere, long days of cleanup, and the night work under a spotlight as smoke rises from burning ruined items. All of it set to the soundtrack from Terminator — because what happened feels like a real post-apocalyptic scene.
Volunteers and kind neighbors are helping us clear the area, but most of our property is lost forever.
Still, we are not giving up.
Right now, our main battle is the fight for our son’s life.
We are planning to return to Russia so he can receive the treatment and chemotherapy he urgently needs. Tomorrow, on Friday, I will go to the Russian Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City and try to request emergency tickets to Moscow for me and my son.
The situation is even more complicated because we need to transport tumor samples for detailed analysis in a Russian clinic to determine the most accurate treatment — and not every airline allows such medical transport.
The chances are small, but I have to try.
I had always relied on my own strength and hoped that selling my bikes would at least partially cover the cost of surgery and treatment, but life turned out differently…
