Thanks to The Catamaran Company for keeping us up to date with how things are going! Sea Runner IV patiently waits for her return to action...
From the Base
BVIs stats as of March 31, 2020: The BVIs have tested 52 suspected people for Covid-19: 49 came up negative, 3 positive and are isolated at home, 143 are under investigation (no testing-home confinement) and 9 are pending results.
Currently and until further notice, the BVI lockdown established Friday March 27th at 8PM will end on Thursday April 20 at 6AM. During this time, only essential personnel (health personnel, police, fire fighters and few with special passes) are allowed out. ALL STORES –including grocery stores- are CLOSED. Limited and managed circulation was allowed on Thursday 2, Friday 3 and Saturday 4.
Hodge’s Creek: Most boats returned from charter the week-end of March 21st. At that time, using protective equipment (masks, gloves, even suits when needed), our base staff made sure all garbage and food were removed from the boats. We sprayed the interior and closed each boat for a period of up to 72hrs (where possible). The staff then returned on board and started the usual process of cleaning and checking systems.
