Enjoying doing annual oil change on my 2012 Toyota Camry using AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-20 100% synthetic oil. And simultaneously performing a transmission service with AMSOIL Fuel-Efficient 100% synthetic ATF. Using high quality synthetic lubricants is key to vehicle and equipment component protection and long life.

I am an AMSOIL Dealer, but I also maintain all my vehicles using nothing but AMSOIL products. Not all synthetic lubricant are equal - contact me and I’ll show how you can protect yours with AMSOIL! AMSOIL – privately owned since 1972.

A common misconception with racing engine oil is: If it does a great job protecting a high-performance racing engine, it would logically be the best oil to protect my passenger car or light truck engine. Not true, and this AMSOIL blog explains why.

It sounds logical to put a high-performance racing oil in your daily driver, but there are several reasons why you shouldn’t.

Replacing the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) intake side cam gear in my 2012 Camry, a known defective component (Toyota cold start up VVT rattle) on Toyota 4-cylinder engines. Everything going well at this point (note the smile). Until… (and I know my gearhead friends can relate) the 3-inch timing chain guide between the two camshaft gears fell down inside the timing chain galley. Could not retrieve it. So… had to pull the crank pulley (torqued to 195 lb-ft), the motor mount, and timing chain cover, retrieve chain guide, then reassemble. A 3-5 hour job turned into several days.

Only 105K miles on my Camry, but note how clean the valvetrain and timing chain oil galleys are. Compare the Camry photos to the two photos of my AMSOIL account’s customer minivan timing chain cover and timing chain galley at about 150K miles. Customer was using conventional oil and the oil deposits plugged the tiny VVT oil control valve oil passage holes, preventing the VVT system operating as designed and resulting in a check engine light and subsequent $1500 repair job.
The takeaway: I use AMSOIL Signature Series 100% synthetic motor oil exclusively in my Camry and all my vehicles. (and you should too!) I change the oil and filter annually, averaging 14K between changes. Contact me to set you up with a high quality AMSOIL motor oil. Your vehicle will thank you now, and many miles down the road!

Hello all, this is an interesting video. By that I mean the narrator is neither an AMSOIL Dealer like myself, nor owns a business that sells AMSOIL. He is a DIYer who simply has a positive story to share of his extensive track record using AMSOIL motor oil in his 1998 Volkswagen Jetta TDI diesel. It’s only 12.5 mins, and a bit slow in the beginning but he does make a great case – almost 400k miles – for the quality of AMSOIL motor oil. Thanks for watching… Frank

In this video I will show you what the inside of my engine looks like with running a 35k mile drain interval over the last 20 years in my 1998 VW Jetta Tdi. ...

Hey everyone! Most vehicle owners, like you and I, are aware of the need to periodically change the oil in your engine. Just driving by a quick l**e business is a subtle reminder. Now, moving on to the transmission - not the topic of this post, but the tr**ny (short for “transmission” – don’t jail me, Facebook) fluid service generally comes in a close second place to the engine oil. But… how about the differential lubricant? Yes, the unsung hero liquid that keeps that ring and pinion gear assembly in the axle housing from destroying itself. That lubricant generally comes in a very distant 3rd place, or totally ignored (out of sight, out of mind) altogether. But it does eventually wear out and loses its protective lubricating qualities.
For most vehicles, about $50-60 worth of a quality gear lubricant (such as AMSOIL, of course) can protect those differential components and prevent VERY costly repairs down the road (not to mention vehicle downtime). Click on the AMSOIL blog link to learn more. Then contact me to help keep your vehicle differential running smooth for years down the road.
Thanks for reading… Frank

How often to change front or rear differential fluid depends on your vehicle, driving conditions and differential fluid quality. Learn more.

The AMSOIL company has many other excellent products besides their superb synthetic lubricants. One such product is Miracle Wash, a waterless wash and wax. It’s super easy to use – just spray and wipe. It cleans and simultaneously applies a wax protectant to the paint. My vehicles haven’t seen the sponge and soapy water mess in many, many years. Here’s my 1979 CJ-7 after a cleaning using Miracle Wash.

All gasoline sold today must contain minimum levels of detergents that guard against performance-robbing valve, injector and combustion chamber deposits. However, additive quality and effectiveness can vary significantly from station to station. For best performance, periodically use a gasoline additive designed to clean deposits, such as AMSOIL P.i.

I treat all my vehicles – car, truck, Jeep, and Harley every 4,000 miles as recommended with a bottle of AMSOIL Performance Improver. This product is just as much a part of my vehicle maintenance as is my oil changes, transmission services, etc. It works great on carbureted engines too.

Here is a recent photo of my 1985 Harley-Davidson 1340cc Evolution engine intake port and valve, after over 120,000 miles using AMSOIL Performance Improver. Before using P.i., I remember heavy carbon deposits present on the intake valve at only 20,000 miles. It truly works.
