September fools people. The mornings get nice, so nobody thinks about air conditioning.

Then you get one more 98 degree afternoon and the A/C blows warm on the way home.

Here is why it happens now. Your system has been running flat out since May. Whatever was marginal in June has had three more months of heat to finish the job.

If yours has been getting weaker all summer, do not wait for it to quit completely. Weaker is information. Quit is a bigger repair.

You are an adult and it is your car and your decision. But you are going to make that decision knowing what we know, not because nobody wanted to have an awkward conversation with you.

Not every big-sounding problem is a big repair.

People come in braced for a transmission and leave having spent a fraction of that, because the actual failure was a sensor or a module and not the thing everybody assumed.

It goes the other way sometimes too, and we will tell you that just as plainly.

The point is that you should not be quoted off a guess. Get it diagnosed properly first, then decide what to do about it.

The question under most repair fear is simple. What if it breaks again?

Most of our repairs carry a nationwide two-year, 24,000-mile warranty. Most engine and transmission replacements carry three years or 100,000 miles.

Nationwide means it holds if you are out of state when something goes wrong, not just if you can make it back to Industrial Drive.

If something we fixed does not hold, we make it right. You should not have to gamble on your car.

We are a Yukon shop. That is not a marketing line, it is just where we live and where our kids go to school.

The people whose cars are in our bays today are people we see at the grocery store. You cannot hide from a bad repair in a town this size, and we never wanted to.

Some of the best calls we make are the ones where we tell somebody to keep their money.

The noise that turns out to be nothing. The "urgent" item somebody else quoted that has another year left in it. The repair that costs more than the car is worth, where the honest answer is that we would not do it if it were ours.

That conversation makes us nothing that day. It is also the reason those people come back for five years and send their family.

If you have a quote in your hand right now that does not feel right, bring it to us. We will tell you what we would actually do.

Not everybody can take a morning off to sit in a waiting room.

Drop the car after hours, book online whenever it is convenient, and the first thing you will get is the inspection on your phone with photos.

You can look at it on your lunch break and approve what you want done from wherever you are.

You never have to stand at a counter being talked into something with people waiting behind you.

Short and direct, which is the best kind.

"This shop and the guys working there are nothing short of amazing!! They are hardworking, honest, and do right by their customers. Don't bother going anywhere else for your car repairs, just come here and get it done right the first time."

Right the first time is the whole goal. Coming back for the same problem twice costs you money and costs us your trust, and only one of those is replaceable.

Sometimes the thing you came in for is not the thing we are worried about.

Somebody brings a car in for one problem. We do the full inspection anyway, because that is how we do every car, and something else shows up that they never mentioned. A rattle they had stopped hearing. A part that was close to letting go.

One of our customers wrote about exactly that afterward, that we pointed out major problems he had not caught and saved him from bigger issues down the road.

We are not looking for extra work. We are looking at the whole car because half a picture is how people get stranded.
