2017 Jeep Wrangler. Customer requested Brake Masters to replace failed lifter (which is a common repair on Mopar Engines) they gave her an initial estimate after diagnostic and arranged drop off for repairs. After vehicle was dropped off she then received a call stating she needed an entire engine. New quote exceeded $13,000, $10,000 for a used engine and new fluids, $3000 for labor. She reached out to us with request for new engine quote with labor, engine cost with 0 miles was $4871 after tax and shipping. Total after engine, fluids and labor was only $6000.

We requested to do a diagnostic of the vehicle before jumping to the swap and found only 1 lifter was failed and all claims by Brake Masters were wrong and seemed more of a money grab. Job total with extra fluids for transmission was $2300. Replaced all valves and rockers and examined the other internal components. Vehicle is working as new!!

ARD Certification was not required at time of opening. We are consulting with the BAR and company Attorneys to verify all requirements for California. ARD Certification requirement took effect January 1, 2024. We have not received notification of requirement since put in place.

Always shows a positive look when your customers call you back to fix other issues on their vehicles after services. I worked on this vehicle about a month ago for a full Strut and Shock replacement and found that her previous mechanic actually loosened her Sway bar, tightened it down at no extra cost. She reached back out to me and scheduled an inspection and repair on her radiator while I was out of town and was happy enough with my prior services that she was willing to wait for me to return. Went ahead and replaced her Radiator that the plastic was cracked on the side and refilled her A/C replacing the old Freon and giving her nice fresh cold air once again.

2009 Audi A4 Wagon.
Main complaint: Engine won’t start, I had my mechanic install new Timing chain, Turbo, spark plugs and coil packs.

Findings; Turbo not properly mounted missing crush washers.
Found timing off by 4 teeth. Inspected valves and pistons, Exhaust valves bent. Removed head inspected head, block and Pistons. Replaced Valves Timing Chain, Guides, seals and reassembled.
Vehicle Runs like a charm👍

Depending on Manufacturer Timing chain is recommended Maintenance every 100,000 - 120,000 miles.
