Ypsilanti Orphan Car Show

Ypsilanti Orphan Car Show The official page of the Ypsilanti Orphan Car Show in Ypsilanti, Michigan's Riverside Park. A fall celebration of automotive esoterica!

Since 1996, the Ypsilanti Orphan Car Show has been staged annually to celebrate cars built by manufacturers who have gone out of business and those with strong ties to the Ypsilanti community. Proceeds support the Ypsilanti Automotive Heritage Museum. Hundreds of Hudsons, Corvairs, Studebakers, Packards, Ramblers, and many more brands both common (Oldsmobile, Plymouth) and obscure gather in Riverside Park in Ypsilanti's historic Depot Town.

Numbers for both the car-entry field and the paid attendance have been low in the post-pandemic era and costs for staging the show have risen, leading the museum board to determine that the event, always run as a fund-raiser for the museum, would return little or no value in return for the considerable volunteer effort required.

There are also some events happening in Detroit that weekend, so we're part of a bigger car-fest in SE Michigan. Watch this space. Details and (important) entry form (a .pdf download) at this link: https://ypsiautoheritage.org/ Cars for the show must be pre-entered and approved, you can't just show up on the day. This year's theme is imported orphans.
