We may have missed National Automotive Service Professionals Day back in June, but around here, we don’t need just one day to celebrate the people who keep vehicles safe, reliable, and on the road.

At Legacy, we appreciate our technicians every day.

Meet Christian Brocious, one of the talented techs behind the work happening in our shop. Christian brings a decade of hands-on automotive experience to Legacy and has spent the last eight years working side-by-side with Rich. He loves problem-solving, tinkering with vehicles, and figuring out what makes them tick.

That passion carries over outside the shop, too. Christian is rebuilding and personalizing his classic 1976 Pontiac Ventura, enjoys drawing, playing video games, going antiquing, and listening to vinyl records on a pretty impressive stereo setup. His music taste ranges from classic rock and country all the way “from Bach to rock.”

Most importantly, Christian is a proud dad to his beautiful five-year-old daughter.

We’re grateful to have Christian as part of the Legacy team and proud to recognize the skill, dedication, and craftsmanship he brings to the shop every day.

Q Hey Rich, when should I start thinking about getting my car ready for winter driving?

A It is never too early to start preparing your car for the upcoming winter! By starting now, you can budget for the expenses. Have your favorite repair shop thoroughly inspect your car. They will supply you with a list of their recommendations. I suggest starting with the bigger expenses first.
Good tires are a must, but they can be costly. Begin shopping early to find the best value, not just the lowest price. In many cases, economy tires will not provide the traction you need on slippery roads. If a battery is needed, purchase one early. Make certain the wiper blades are working well.
Now that the major purchases are complete, the fluid services can be addressed. With a bit of luck, you'll have some money left to buy Christmas presents.

A $16,000 engine replacement? Not so fast. 👀

When an Easterseals bus came to Legacy with an engine misfire and tapping noise, they had already been told the engine needed to be replaced.

Our team diagnosed the real issues and completed targeted repairs for about one-third of the replacement estimate, helping avoid roughly $10,000 in unnecessary expense.

Even better? 35,000 miles later, that bus is still on the road.

A second Easterseals bus later came in with a similar concern — and once again, proper diagnostics helped avoid an unnecessary engine replacement.
