Just a little FYI

TICK MAP UPDATE: Many of you have asked for statewide data, so I've created a county-by-county map of New York. This graphic color codes each county based on the percentage of tested ticks who were positive for at least one pathogen (Lyme, for example). This helps isolate something of a "heat map" for where a greater percentage of ticks are capable of transmitting tick-borne disease by county.

Remember, not all ticks carry disease and not all tick bites will get you sick. However, it is very important to check your skin for ticks and pay close attention to symptoms if you think you've sustained a tick bite. Prompt medical treatment is crucial for mitigating symptoms and long-term health issues. Doctors I've spoken with recently have highlighted the increased prevalence of patients coming in with suspected tick bites this time of year, so it's very much a thing to be paying attention to!

We had such an amazing time! We also cant wait for next years! We will try to work with multiples others and the village again and get some other cool things down there!!

Over 80 kids participated in the kids' fishing derby held in Youngstown recently. The largest fish was a 17-inch largemouth bass.

I will be out of the shop Wednesday (6/24). I get to spend my morning on the water catching fish thanks to Catching Dreams Charters & Capt. Connor Cinelli! Catching Dreams Charters is an amazing organization that takes out kids that are fighting or have fought cancer. I have always been a firm believer that fishing is an amazing form of therapy. If you know someone in your life who needs a pick me up - take them fishing!🎣

After dealing with health issues last week we decided to close on Mondays again. Giving myself one day off a week makes it so my chronic illness doesn’t take me out for a few days/weeks at a time. This wasn’t an easy decision to make, we want to be there daily for our fishing friends but if I run myself into the ground the shop goes with me.. I will be open 7 days a week when there’s a LOC Derby taking place. Thank you guys for continuing to show support, the last thing we want is to inconvenience y’all. See you tomorrow 🎣 - Julia

I came in for a few hours this morning but unfortunately I had to leave again. Alan will be at the shop this weekend - things should be back to normal by next week🤞🏻I appreciate how understanding everyone has been, health is truly unpredictable.
