THE STORY OF ONE OF THE WORST DETAILS I’VE EVER DONE 🤢

Years ago I worked at a body shop and an SUV came in with a completely smashed windshield.
I’m looking at it thinking, dang… someone must’ve thrown a rock through it. I’ll probably just have to clean up a bunch of glass.

Nope. 😂

They hit a goose on the freeway.

Not bumped it.

Not clipped it.

That goose went FULL KOOL-AID MAN THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. 😂

And apparently when a goose enters a vehicle at freeway speeds, it does NOT stay assembled.

Blood. Guts. Feathers. P**p.

Thankfully nobody in the SUV was hurt, but the owner was DONE with that vehicle. 😂 They just wanted it cleaned up enough so they could sell it and never think about that goose again.

It took me a couple DAYS. I had to remove interior panels because there were pieces of that goose in places you wouldn’t even think were possible.

I’ve cleaned some nasty vehicles over the years…but that one still holds the trophy. 🏆🪿

You seriously never know what you’re going to run into in the detailing world.

20+ years of detailing and I still haven’t forgotten that damn goose. 😂

Picked up a few old hoods today for the new guy to train on.

Anybody can watch videos and say they know how to polish paint. We want hands-on time before touching a customer’s vehicle.

Burn some paint. Make some mistakes. Learn how different paints react. Figure out the machines, pads and compounds.

Practice happens on these hoods — not your vehicle.

That’s how we do it at 507 Auto Detailing. 💪

Your ego is not your amigo. 🤝

One thing Katie and I have learned in this detailing journey is that none of us have it all figured out.

There’s always another vehicle that will challenge you. Another stain that makes you rethink your process. Another paint system that humbles you. Another detailer you can learn something from.
We’re not interested in being called “the best.”

We’re interested in being better than we were yesterday.

For us, detailing has never been about proving we know more than the next person. It’s about learning, sharing what we know, helping each other grow, and respecting the craft.

Some days you teach.
Some days you learn.
The best days, you do both.

Check the ego at the shop door, pick up the polisher, and keep working on your craft.
Stay humble. Stay teachable. Keep detailing.

Why do mold details cost more?

Because it’s WAY more than a normal detail.

We deep clean and treat the vehicle using bio-enzyme products, steam, heated extraction and ozone. Then, when the vehicle is done, every tool and piece of equipment we used gets cleaned and sanitized before it touches another customer’s car.

More time. More products. More precautions.

Mold removal isn’t a normal detail, and we don’t treat it like one.

THIS is how black paint is supposed to look. 🔥

This truck is officially DONE.

We put in the work correcting the paint, knocking down the swirls and defects, and bringing that black finish back to life.

Then we locked it all in with System X Phantom ceramic coating for years of protection, insane gloss, and easier maintenance.

Black paint can be unforgiving… but when it’s done right, nothing beats it.

TOYOTA TUNDRA — MAINTENANCE DETAIL

This Tundra came in for a maintenance detail to keep it looking clean and protected.

Interior cleaned up and refreshed, followed by an exterior wash and fresh coat of wax.

Regular maintenance makes a huge difference and keeps the big details from becoming even bigger.
