Sometimes superior support comes from a military spouse's employer. That's exactly the reason why Jamie Brehm, a former Iowa Army National Guard member, wanted to express his appreciation for the extra care provided to him by Nick Kamp, owner of Nick Kamp Repair in Worthington, Iowa.
Jamie's wife, SFC Andrea Brehm, of the 411 Engineers Company, US Army Reserve, Cedar Rapids, was deployed to Kuwait. Nick went out of his way to support Jamie during this deployment, understanding his need to take children to school and daycare, care for sick kids, and take them to doctor’s appointments. In addition, Nick regularly asked how Andrea was doing in Kuwait. The shop has very few employees so when one is gone it has a significant impact on the workload, in spite of this Nick Kamp was always very supportive.
So, Rick Ernst, Military Outreach Director for Iowa ESGR, recently presented an ESGR Patriotic Employer Award to Nick at his business. CONGRATULATIONS, Nick, and THANK YOU for your above and beyond support of Jamie.
