Although the camper is currently an ice box on wheels, we are daydreaming, planning, and booking adventures for the spring! Anyone else got warm starry nights by the campfire on the calendar yet?? Where are you going?

Today is Mike’s (almost 50th) 48th birthday. I am feeling a bit tired as I am recovering from a very late night of making his birthday cake…a Reese’s Cheesecake with brownie crust, covered in chocolate ganache…which in hindsight seemed like a great idea. Simple ingredients including Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups 🙌🏻, say no more. But the reality of this recipe is that it took over four hours to make AND I started it at 7:30 last night. Thanks Pinterest…😳

Fueled on the “leftover” Reese’s and a six pack of seltzers, I plugged through the process while watching Under the Tuscan Sun, and TWO other movies. The point of this story is that I wanted to make him a special cake this year to show my love and appreciation for all he does for me and our girls and for not only believing in me and all my ideas, but for supporting them by helping make them our reality. I hope you have a superfantastical day today because you truly deserve it. Happy Birthday Mike; I hope you enjoy your cake and are entertained by my story. SO MUCH LOVE to you from me. Xoxo❤

Camping on this cool summer weekend had all the feels of fall which meant our menu had to include Ranch Chicken Chili.

This favorite dish is so freakin good and super easy to make. It can be cooked slowly in a crock pot or brought to a boil and simmered on the stovetop.

My new favorite room with a view….

Five months later and we are still plugging away on our renovation of Brenda. Although she isn’t done, her done-ish state allows us to take her on adventures and enjoy camping with the comforts of this amazing king size bed!

This is by far my favorite room, not only because of the bed, but because of the large windows on all three walls. Whether we are parked or bustling down the highway, the view from all sides is something not only we, but Daisy enjoys!

A last minute rental request landed Alice on a old tarmac in East Hartford. For the next 9 days she will provide emergency service linemen a place to sleep while working through hurricane Henri.

As we sat and had breakfast this morning, we wondered if we could convince our girls to take a weekend trip with us? It sleeps six, but two would have to share a bed-what do you think .parentt -wanna take a trip? And if so, who would you sleep with if you had to share?? 👯‍♀️👯‍♀️

“Good enough for a getaway” is Brenda’s current status-so here we are-getting away. Daisy is loving our new room with a view and spent most of our ride to Maine gazing out the window.

My last memories of this campground were from way back in the 70’s; catching pumpkinseed, sliding down the large metal slide into the lake, and sleeping in a mosquito filled tent! Anyone else??

If your looking for a nice campground close to home with simple amenities and lake access, this is is great option.
