On Wednesday June 5th 2019, around 2:20pm, a disturbing discovery was made after a blue Chevrolet Express Van was towed from 645 Park Avenue, in Worcester, to Early’s on Park Avenue, Inc., 536 Park Avenue, Worcester, by the property owner. The Property owner called in for an abandoned vehicle that was left in the parking lot that had been there for about 2 weeks. A self-loading wrecker was dispatched to the location and the vehicle was towed back to the impound area. The tow operator never exited his truck from the time he was dispatched until he arrived back at the impound area. As he exited the wrecker at Early’s, he made an observation of a large quantity of flies exiting a vent located in the right rear of the van followed by an unbearable odor. Management was summonsed out to the vehicle and looked inside and observed normal construction objects, gas cans, and 2 plastic containers. Due to the odor and obvious signs of flies, the determination was made to move the vehicle out of the public’s view and onto an adjacent parking lot. At this point, the Worcester Police Department was contacted to further investigate the odor. Worcester Police made the decision to smash out a window on the right side of the van and an Officer entered the vehicle and made a gruesome discovery. The Worcester Police Department took possession of the vehicle and the body was removed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The vehicle was then towed to the Worcester Police Headquarters for further investigation. The entire staff here at Early’s on Park Avenue, Inc., would like to offer their deepest condolences to the victim’s family and friends. We would like to thank our customers and friends for reaching out to us during this difficult time. We will not have any further comments at this time and would like to direct any questions to the Worcester Police Department. Thank you.
