SNOW TOTALS have increased for this weekend winter storm! Widespread 7-10” for Northwest Ohio. Areas southeast of Toledo toward I-71 will be expecting 10-12”+ by Sunday night.

TRAVEL: Just fine all day Saturday. First snowflakes will arrive near and after midnight into northwest Ohio. Expect 1-2” by daybreak. Steady moderate to heavy snow at time all day Sunday.

***AVOID TRAVEL SUNDAY***

Road crews simply won’t be able to keep up. This snow will be widespread everywhere. Winds will not be a major concern, but gusts to 25 mph or greater will blow and drift this light fluffy snow. Some rural roads, especially ones untouched by crews will be extremely hazardous, and perhaps impassable.

**Weekend Travel Timeline**

Here is an early look at the weekend travel timeline and the impact on the roads. Snow is expected to start light Saturday evening, but steady snow will start making an impact by Sunday morning or before and conditions will get worse through the day as snow continues and the winds pick up to 10 to 15 mph out of the north to northeast with 25 mph gusts. 30 mph wind gusts are possible on Monday morning with a low near 0. That wind and cold combo will make for slick roads lasting longer than normal following the storm.

UPDATE 6:30 PM: Snow is now beginning west of I-75. Who has reports??? High resolution models still indicate this will be a widespread 1-3" to the north with 2-4" to the south. However, I'm seeing growing evidence of some mesoscale snow banding that could bring a small narrow swath of heavier overnight snow along the RT 224 corridor where over 4" may be possible!

**Significant Snow Possible Saturday Night**

Who is ready for snow? You may need the shovel this weekend, and this storm will cause travel issues. Here is the very latest from the First Alert Weather Team.

*What Has Changed*
The projected storm track has drifted south over the last 24 hours. The storm system has now made landfall in the Pacific Northwest, and confidence is building that a snowstorm will develop in the region, and cause travel issues here at home and regionally in Indiana and Michigan.

*Timeline*
8am Sat - 3pm Sat: No Snow, Roads Are Clear...Great Travel
3pm Sat - 7pm Sat: Light Snow, Minor Slow Downs...Fair Travel
7pm Sat - 7am Sun: Heavy Snow, Major Slow Downs...Poor Travel
7am Sun - Noon Sun: Light Rain/Snow, Roads Thaw, Travel Slowly Improves

*Totals*
Snow totals will be lowest where some rain tries to mix in on Sunday morning. This is most likely in our southeast counties. Findlay, Tiffin, and Norwalk are expected to get about 2-3" of snow. 3-5" of snow is expected in most of the area including Monroe, Toledo, Bowling Green, Napoleon, and Ottawa. 5-7" of snow is possible in Hillsdale, Lenawee, Williams, and Fulton Counties. If the storm drifts north or south, these totals could change. Regardless, we will keep you posted with those totals and the storm timeline.
