As posted on other platforms. As an owner of an automotive collision repair and refinishing facility its not about just giving qoutes on vehicle repairs, its also about information, about why choosing the proper facility for your automotive collision repairs.
Today's vehicles and atleast for last decade have alot of technology as well as ultra high strength steels ,boron structural components as well as high strength steels. These steels are not intended to be heated or always pulled back into place. They will lose their structural abilities to provide crash protection.
Today's vehicles also with their innovative technologies can not just be repaired using improper oem repair procedures. All shops need to have databases and training to allow vehicles to be repaired properly. Even paint products need to be specified for blind spot radar to function properly.
All vehicles need to be pre repair scanned as well as post repair scanned and all stored codes need to be cleared or installed components calibrated.

Also collision repair facilities need proper intelligent welding equipment for proper weld force for all welds to meet oem specifications. These pieces of equipment can run cost wise between $25,000 to $45,000.00 depending on name brand. The need for use of proper unibody pulling and clamping equipment that can run well over $150,000.00 amongst some of the largest facility equipment.

You need to ask yourselves, is using either the guy in his garage, or the unlicensed repair shop is worth your safety or your passengers safety or lives just to save a few dollars here or there.

Properly licensed and properly insured businesses are not only to protect the facility but to also protect you and your investment.

So when someone will state ,your just busting that tool company or your just giving an excuse for your absorbent prices you may charge , well they are just grasping at straws ,they can never stand against oem procedures and protocols no matter what they say.

Morning, some helpful hints when it comes to choosing a proper automotive collision repair and refinishing company. Number one is reputation!!! Ask around ,read reviews,check out how long they've been in business, make sure they have a state license, proper insurance, proper equipment and offer a warranty. Also if there facility is clean and professional, obviously if they cant take care of their own property then how can they take care of yours. My choice is always to deal with the owner ,because its his company and his reputation.
Now at my facility we have all the above and then some,first off we employ only the best repair technicians, I myself not inly handle all the estimations personally but I also repair vehicles and refinish as well because I love my job and enjoy it. We also invest in proper welding equipment, proper supplies for proper repairs,proper oe database equipment, proper structural measuring and aligning equipment etc etc ,we dont just make do!!! Obviously its a very large investment for shops in my industry but you need to have the proper technicians and proper equipment to do the job properly and safely.
Now my facility strictly repairs and refinishes automotive collision, we dont specialize in repairing used car lot repairs for dealerships, we dont strictly do restorations on vintage vehicles( although we may take a restoration in once in awhile because we do love making them beautiful again) and we dont do half ass work.
Now why ,because used car lots want cheap work ,they want to make the most money at the least cost. I just won't do it ,you give your company a bad reputation and make no money just to look busy. Obviously makes poor business sense.
My facility has stayed in business based our company motto "THERE'S NO SUBSTITUTE FOR QUALITY WORKMANSHIP ", and this will never change!!! We have been family owned and operated by 3 generations of the Carioti men . This building was built by the hands of my grandfather and run ,we are the oldest running auto body within the area SINCE 1937 !!!
On a personal note ,we do not base our reviews or business reputation on saving customers deductibles ,we do not base it on doing free work!!! It's costs alot of money and time to repair vehicles today and proper training, and we absolutely will not do half ass repairs for anyone ever!! Yes we do work with some insurance companies directly and for one reason and one reason only, because they meet our repair criteria not vice versa,I run my facility not an insurance company.

Alot gets finished on a vehicle within 10 business working days. Following oe repair procedures,having the right person for the job and having the proper equipment to do the job. It's a science and a skillet to do what we do in my industry. It's not about saving someone their deductible to get the job!!! It's about safety!!! Protecting the individuals within the vehicle. When proper repairs are not completed, the vehicle will not sustain an impact correctly which may hurt or possibly kill the riders.

Choose wisely what you would prefer? Safety or a few dollars in your pocket! No one does anything for free ,no one !!!

In my line of work there is the right way to repair a vehicle and the wrong way to repair a vehicle. Most people base repairs on cost alone which is not the most important thing. Safety is !!! Repairing a vehicle correctly ,using the proper equipment, the proper materials and parts as well as having the proper repair techniques as well as the proper tools and databases .
Almost all vehicles are made today with multiple strength metals,uhs ,hss ,ultra high strength steels and high strength steels which react differently in collisions and some may not be straightened or repaired. Replacement of these parts takes time and are usually expensive.
Listen to be blunt,there are half ass ways to repair vehicles and there is the right way,I will never compromise a person's safety and well being or my companies reputation for quality workmanship, you want cheap and improper repairs then take your vehicle down the road. You want it done the right way then we will repair it.and repair it the correct way. There's a reason my family has been in business for over 88 years and it isn't because we cut costs or do improper repairs, i sleep well every night knowing my customers are safe in theor vehicles we repaired.
