MidWest Flying Machines is hiring! We're an experimental aircraft build-assist shop, located at Southeast Michigan's Oakland Southwest Y47 airport, primarily focused on Zenith aircraft. We help our clients build their own aircraft. FAST.

What we need is someone with at least basic mechanical and electrical skill plus, most importantly, a sharp eye for details and the right attitude. You'll work on every system of the airplane: Engine, fuel, avionics, sheet metal.

If you have participated in the construction of an experimental aircraft, want to become an A&P or maybe even already graduated, message us.

With the exception of the vertical stabilizer (which isn’t available yet), the ENTIRE AIRFRAME of the brand-new Zenith Aircraft CH750 Super CruZer is now DONE, thanks to our client’s hard work! 🤩 💪 🎉

Next: Relocation to our new-to-us business hangar at the Oakland Southwest Airport (Y47), followed by hanging the Viking 175 by Viking Aircraft Engines and installing the custom Dynon Avionics instrument panel. 👍

Ok, admittedly this is probably overkill but why not use the tools at your disposal? 😎

Match-drilling the nose gear strut into the nose gear fork is a bit tricky / inaccurate. We therefore 3D scanned the base of the nose gear with an accuracy of 0.019 mm / 0.00075” and used that to design a precise 3D printed drill guide.

Inventory done, deburring and assembly started! 😃💪

The Zenith Aircraft CH750 Super CruZer fuselage and finishing kit as well es the Viking Aircraft Engines 175 were extremely well packaged.

We can‘t wait until „it“ becomes a „she“, standing on her bush wheels as our client opted for the Super Duty gear!
