Labor Day Weekend - How’d You Spend It?

Our Saturday Polish lunch is tough to follow—but Maine knows exactly how to keep the adventure going. 😄

Yesterday, we wandered the back roads of Midcoast Maine, letting the road lead us toward Fort Popham.

Along the way, we spotted harbor seals, rode through a passing shower, sat on the beach, explored a 160-year-old granite fort, and soaked up centuries of maritime history.

We even found ourselves talking about the USS Zumwalt—built just upriver at Bath Iron Works and once photographed passing Fort Popham, with Civil War-era America in the foreground and 21st-century naval technology behind it.

And, naturally, commanded by none other than Captain James A. Kirk. 😄

No mileage goal. No schedule. No hurry.

Just a beautiful September day spent exploring Maine, one winding back road at a time.

Sometimes the best adventures are the ones you never planned—and the ones that leave you already looking forward to the next ride.

Cheers,
Bruce 🏍️⚓️❤️

Local Lunch — Dresden Coffee and Gallery

Kathi and I happened to be riding by when we remembered a recommendation from one of my coworkers. We pulled in, parked the bikes, and stepped inside, where we were immediately greeted with genuine warmth.

Quite literally sitting in the middle of a flower field, this charming restaurant serves wonderful, authentic Polish food with all the warmth of a cherished neighborhood gathering place.

I enjoyed the blueberry pierogi, with their comforting homemade character, along with a croissant and the most delicious little apple pie. Kathi had bigos, a traditional Polish dish of cabbage and meat.

Everything was wonderful, and for me the meal brought back some very fond memories of the Polish food I enjoyed while living in Buffalo.

Our host and owner, Barbara, was incredibly warm and welcoming. When I mentioned Buffalo, New York, and my memories of its Polish food, it sparked a lively and thoroughly enjoyable conversation that made the entire experience feel even more personal.

The restaurant itself is cozy and inviting, with about six tables and some counter seating. Its intimate layout creates a wonderfully relaxed, neighborly atmosphere, while a separate, beautifully appointed dining room offers seating for approximately eight more people.

This place is truly a gem: homemade, authentic Polish food served with wonderfully warm hospitality. I honestly can’t think of anything quite comparable anywhere else in Maine.

Wonderful food, gracious hospitality, and a delightful experience from beginning to end. We’re very glad we stopped, and we will most certainly be back!

And besides, we really have no choice now—Barbara promised Kathi a slice of Polish cheesecake with chocolate on top. 😄

If that cheesecake is anything at all like the apple pie we enjoyed, it should be remarkable. 🍎

Warmly,
Bruce

"Brilliant—It Hasn’t Run This Well in 25 Years!”

That was the wonderful feedback from the owner of this beautiful 1963 Triumph TR4 after our team completed its ignition and carburetor work last week.

There’s something especially satisfying about helping a classic automobile run the way it was meant to—and perhaps better than its owner has experienced in decades!

Feedback like this absolutely delights me and drives our entire Atlantic Motorcar team every day.

Great work, team!

Cheers,
Bruce

AMC - What’s In The Workshop Today? 🔧🇩🇪🇸🇪🇺🇸 - Part 2

Behind every car you see is a technician, advisor, parts person, and support team working together to get it diagnosed correctly, repaired properly, checked over, and safely back on the road.

After more than four decades in this business, I still enjoy walking through a full workshop and seeing a great team doing what they do best.

Good people. Good work. Plenty of cars.
Just another day at Atlantic Motorcar Center Planet Of Fun🔧

AMC - What’s In The Workshop Today? 🔧🇩🇪🇸🇪🇺🇸

A quick look across the AMC workshop this morning tells the story pretty well — busy bays, cars in the air, diagnostics underway, and a whole lot of wrenching happening.

From routine maintenance to deeper diagnostic work and repairs, there’s a good mix of European machinery moving through the shop today. Some are here for the simple stuff, some for the not-so-simple stuff, and a few are probably doing their best to keep our technicians humble. 😄

That’s the fun of this business: no two days are ever quite the same.

Friday Thought - Keep Showing Up

The older I get, the more I realize personal growth usually isn’t some grand transformation.

Most of the time, it’s found in the little things.
Being a little more patient.
Listening a little longer.
Reacting a little less.
Giving people a little more grace (including ourselves)

Knowing when to speak, when to stay quiet, and when to simply let something go.

None of us ever really “arrives.” We’re all still learning, still growing, and still carrying a few rough edges that could probably use a little sanding. 😄

And I think that’s okay.

What matters is that we keep moving forward, keep learning, keep showing up, and try to leave the people and places around us just a little better than we found them.

Maybe that’s really what growth is — becoming a little wiser, a little kinder, and a little better than we were yesterday.

Enjoy the day, my friends.

Cheers,
Bruce

We do **not** endorse this technology… but we’d absolutely watch somebody try it on a Saturday afternoon. 😂

Introducing the “Manual Tire Inflator”: no compressor, no pump, just lungs, questionable judgment, and a whole lot of determination.

Could it actually inflate a car tire? Not very well. Could it provide cardio, entertainment, and roadside drama? Almost certainly.

Tag the friend who would say, “Stand back, I got this.” 🚗💨😮‍💨

🏆 **AMC Iron Man Award — This Week’s Recipient: Jack!**

This week, the Iron Man helmet officially changes hands from last week’s recipient, Steve, to **Jack of our AMC Service Team!**

The AMC Iron Man Award recognizes team members who demonstrate strong personal and professional growth, leadership, a can-do attitude, efficiency, and a commitment to quality.

At Atlantic Motorcar Center, we believe leadership isn’t defined by a job title. It shows up in how you approach your work, support your teammates, solve problems, take responsibility, and continually work to become better at what you do.

Each weekly recipient gets to display the Iron Man helmet at their workstation as a reminder of what they’ve accomplished — and, hopefully, as a little inspiration for the rest of the team.

Every recipient also signs and dates the helmet. At the end of the year, it will be awarded to the team member who has earned the most Iron Man recognitions.

The goal is simple: **recognize excellence, encourage growth, and celebrate the people who continually raise the bar.**

Congratulations, Jack — well earned! 👏

And thank you, Steve, for carrying the helmet proudly last week and making the handoff!

Warmly,
Bruce and the AMC Team

Put the Pumpkin Spice Down Karen

I’m very saddened to hear the curse words already being tossed around:

“End of summer.”
“End of the season.”
“Time to put the bikes (boats, kayaks, lawn darts) away.”

Please. 😄

It’s not even Labor Day, the temperatures are still comfortably above 40 degrees, and there are plenty of perfectly good riding miles left on the calendar.

And look, I love fall. The crisp air, the foliage, the back roads — all of it.

But can we give summer a little time to finish?

Talking about the end of summer this early is like dragging out the Christmas lights in October.

Technically, I suppose you can.
But you really shouldn’t. 😄

Summer isn’t over.
Some of us are just getting warmed up. 🏍️🌲

Cheers,
AMC
