A library should feel like a love letter to the people who live there. In this Winter Park home, we designed custom floor-to-ceiling built-ins, fabricated the millwork with Ever & Oak Studios, styled every shelf with sourced antiques and vintage classics, color drenched the room in Benjamin Moore Blue Springs and let a hand-cut coco-shell statement chandelier do the singing overhead — the kind of sculptural lighting that turns a room into an experience. Navy velvet, aged brass, hand-bound classics, the quiet snap of a fire — every surface chosen, every shelf styled, every shadow accounted for.

People assume a transformation like this means tearing something down. It rarely does.

The vaulted ceiling stayed. The floors stayed. Even the little portrait stayed — she just finally got the room she deserved. What we changed: the table, the millwork, the seating, the art and the lighting. A handful of considered moves that completely shifted what this room is.

That’s usually how it works. The grand effect comes from the subtle ones.
